Similarly Different is a visual collaboration between design students from the Portland State University Graphic Design program and London College of Communication. In the summer of 2015, eight PSU students traveled to London to explore and collaborate through museum trips, studio visits, and workshops, culminating in exhibitions in both London and Portland. The work included screenprints representing hometowns, letterpress prints portraying the idea of “similarly different,” pinhole photography, and Risograph prints that interpreted the London Underground Roundel.

After we returned, I printed a gridded risograph poster compiled from photographs taken over my trip, as a memento of my first experience traveling outside my own country.
